The Digital Security Authority (DSA), designated under the NIS2 Directive as the National Cybersecurity Crisis Management Authority of the Republic of Cyprus, in close cooperation with the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) and its implementation partners, successfully concluded a three-day onsite workshop (9–11 Δεκεμβρίου 2025), to launch the development of Cyprus’ National Cyber Crisis Management Plan.

The Office of the Commissioner of Electronic Communications – Digital Security Authority was selected, in coordination with ENISA, to participate in the First Pilot Peer Review under the NIS2 Directive. This is a collective initiative aimed at strengthening cybersecurity resilience through the exchange of best practices, transparency, and mutual trust.

The Office of the Commissioner of Communications – Digital Security Authority (DSA) successfully hosted the capacity-building workshop titled “ITU-EaPeReg-EMERG Capacity-Building Workshop on Quality of Service and Resilience of Mobile Infrastructure for Regulatory Authorities”, which took place on 14 and 15 October 2025 at the premises of the Academy of the Commissioner of Communications.

The ongoing conflicts in Ukraine, the Middle East, and the Indo-Pacific have intensified the shift toward hybrid warfare, with cyberspace emerging as a central battleground. In 2024 alone, Ukraine reported over 4,300 cyber incidents targeting critical infrastructure, while Taiwan faced an average of 2.4 million cyberattacks per day — double the rate of the previous year. Iran-linked groups launched waves of DDoS attacks and disinformation campaigns following escalations with Israel.
